Be Joyful

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in EVERYTHING by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the PEACE OF GOD, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

These are verses I memorized years ago and they are written on my heart. There are times when I still need to remember not to be anxious, but I eventually listen to my heart saying these verses. I didn't really understand what the "peace of God" was until I experienced it. It's having peace inside you, even when you're going through heartbreaking situations and trials. It does "surpass ALL understanding" and you know it comes from GOD alone. Praise the Lord for His wonderful promises!

I love, love, love what I do. I am passionate about the things I create and the talents God has placed in me. I SO appreciate the time you take to look at my things and the comments you all leave me!

Blessings to you!

Bee Happy One Sheet Wonder 6x6

Hello!

I made this Bee Happy 6x6 one sheet wonder set using Echo Park’s Bee Happy designer papers.  I love the cheery yellow and green on these papers and think it makes a nice gift set.

Here is the complete set with all the cards together.

I made the set using the 6x6 one sheet wonder instructions I did way back in 2013 that you can find here.  The post shows the cutting layout I made back then to cut the pieces for the cards.  Here is the layout I used, it’s a little blurry, but if you click the link for the post you can see it better.

Here are the individual cards:

Card #1

Card #2

Card #3

Card #4

Card #5

Card #6

Here is a picture of the Echo Park paper pack and the paper I used for the one sheet wonder.  These one sheet wonder sets work best on designer papers that have 3 plus colors and the print is fairly small so you can see the designs even with small pieces.

Hope you enjoy this one sheet wonder project and it gives you a little inspiration!

Here are the items I used:

Stamps: Sincere Salutations (Stampin Up)

Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)

Paper: Bee Happy (Echo Park), white (Georgia Pacific), Spanish Moss, Sunshine, Antique Gold

Other Products: Wide Oval, Scalloped Oval punches, Square Lattice Embossing Folder (Stampin Up), white silk ribbon (May Arts), green buttons, Bow-Easy Tool, white floss

If you do use my design, would you please refer to my blog post.  I did a google search yesterday and was surprised that people were using the exact same layout and putting their name on it. :(

Thank you for looking!

Blessings!

Kathy

Cherry Blossoms Thank You

Hi there!

Today I have a thank you card I made using a masking technique I found on Pinterest here from Klompen Stampers.

I put easy release tape across the middle on the white panel and stamped the flower image on the top corner and then the bottom corner turning the image around.  The black lines across are done with a ruler and black sharpie and I then stamped the thank you sentiment in the middle.

The images are colored with my Prismacolor Pencils, no Gamsol/mineral spirits again.  I also added mini dots of White Opal Liquid Pearls all around the images and in the flower centers.

Project Details:

Stamps: Cherry Blossoms (Flourishes), Thank You Swirl (Serendipity)

Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)

Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Black (Recollections), blue

Other Products: White flat back pearls, White Opal Liquid Pearls, black sharpie, Prismacolor Pencils: Mediterranean Blue, Indigo Blue, Olive Green

Thanks for stoppping by!  Hope I have inspired you to try something new!

Blessings!

Cream & Kraft Flower Garden

Happy Sunday!

I’m back again with a card I made yesterday using Kraft paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I wanted to try coloring on Kraft paper using a new stamp set I bought from Altenew called Flower Garden.  I love this set as it has so many options for flowers and leaves.  It also has matching dies which I didn’t use on this card, but can’t wait to try them.

I stamped the same image in opposite corners and colored them with white Prismacolor pencil, no mineral spirits again.  I added some cream flat back pearls to the flower centers and delicate Bisque Liquid Pearls dots around the images.

The sentiment is from another new stamp set I bought from Stampin Up called Go To Greetings that I stamped with Soft Suede.  I was looking for a basic sentiment set for cards and I think this one is perfect.  Perfect name as I’ll be using this set a lot for my “go to” greetings.

I also stamped the inside of the card with another image from the Flower Garden set.

Thanks for looking, hope you enjoy my newest creation!  I do have a lot of new things I’ve created, but I’m having difficulty getting them to look good in the photos.  (Today’s card was taken with my cell phone and edited on my cell phone, first time doing that!)  I’ve also been working on quite a few 6x6 one sheet wonders card sets that I can’t wait to show you!  I love doing one sheet wonders!

Product Details:

Stamps: Flower Garden (Altenew), Go To Greetings (Stampin Up)

Paper: Kraft (Recolletions), Natural White (Neenah)

Ink: VersaMark, Soft Suede (SU)

Other Products: Bisque Liquid Pearls, White Prismacolor Pencil, cream flat back pearls, White Embossing Powder (SU), heat tool, embossing buddy, glue, white silk ribbon, Bow-Easy Tool

Have a wonderful Sunday!

Blessings!

Blue Wild Flora

Happy Sunday!

I’m back again with another card that I did using a new set I purchase from Altenew called Wild Flora.  I had fun coloring this image with my Prismacolor pencils.  I usually use gamsol and paper stumps, but this time I just did a burnishing technique with the pencils.  I did one in bright blues that I’ll post at a later time and this one with muted blues and brown for a challenge they have at Altenew for January here.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Sorry, the quality of my photos isn’t the best.  This card looks much nicer in real life!

Here are the products I used:

Stamps: Wild Flora (Altenew), Short & Sweet (Stampin Up)
Ink: Onyx Black (VersaFine)
Paper: Solar White (Neenah), Kraft (Recollections), Bordering Blue (Stampin Up)
Accessories: Guilt Trip Mini Prills, glue, Platimun Liquid Pearls (Ranger), Large Oval, Scalloped Oval punches (Stampin Up), half back pearls, Bow-Easy Tool, Danish Blue seam binding, Prismacolor Pencils: Periwinkle, Mediterranean Blue, Limepeel, Olive Green, Dark Green, Ginger Root, Cool Grey 50%, Black (no mineral spirits used)

Hope you enjoyed my project today and you have a wonderful Sunday!

Blessings!

Cherry Blossoms Thank You

Hello there!

I am back again creating!  I'm finally remember where things are in my craft room...for the most part anyway!  I have created quite a few projects the past few weeks, but I'm struggling with an old computer trying to figure out photo editing, watermarking, etc. all over again.  It took me longer to get the photo of the card here than it did to make it!

Anyway, here is a fairly clean and simple thank you card.  I love this dark blue and bright green color combo.  I colored this old Cherry Blossoms image from my stash with new Zig markers I recently bought.  I'm still learning how to use these, but they are fun to use and a little quicker than pencils.

Cherry Blossoms Thank You

Stamps: Cherry Blossom (Rubber Stampede), Because I Care (Stampin Up),

Paper: Watercolor, white, Night of Navy, Certainly Celery (Stampin Up),

Ink: VersaMark, Onyx Black (VersaFine)

Accessories: Wire Fence Embossing Folder (Darice), White Embossing Powder, Bisque Liquid Pearls, flat back pearls, Zig Markers, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Wide Oval punches (Stampin Up)

Thanks for stopping by!  I will be back again soon!

Blessings!

Where Has the Time Gone

Hello,

This is long overdue, but I just wanted to say how much I love to create things and how much I miss it.

Back in 2017, I went back to work full time outside the home.  I found it really difficult to do both work and be creative and had to concentrate on work unfortunately.  I know there are lots of you that do both, and I use to be one of them, but not so much for me the past few years.  I just couldn’t find the energy and it made me a little sad to even be in my craft room.

I’ve created little things here and there and have sometimes finished the inside of one of my many cards from my stash to give to someone special I care about.  I haven’t really created anything worth posting here though.

Whenever I go through my stash of cards, I remember making them and the many hours it took to make them perfect and how much I loved it.  How much I loved to color the images and pick the right colors.  How I would forget to eat lunch till it was too close to dinner and stay in my craft room till 11:00 at night till my back ached.  Now, I go in my craft room and can’t remember where anything is!  Like the basic things I used all the time.  Not to mention the many “things” blocking my way in the craft room.  I’m not even sure I can remember how to color anymore.  I will say that I did make a bow the other day and much to my amazement, I remembered how to use my bow easy.  Thank goodness!

Anyway, I just wanted to say how much I miss it and miss all of you.  I can’t wait to be creative again and use the talents God has given me that bring me so much joy!

Blessings,

Kathy

Blazing Poppy Layered Circle Card

Happy Wednesday!

Today Heartfelt Creations has a special produce launch - Layered Cards, Shadowboxes & Dies! These are perfect for that special wow gift! For my project this week I used one of the circle layered cards in black.

There are 4 separate pages to this card which is more like an album. I decorated the front, but you can also decorate each page with plenty of room for embellishments in-between the pages. There's about a half inch between each for layered embellishments. Here is a side view so you can see the layers better.

The designer papers and the flowers are from the Blazing Poppy Collection. The leaves are from the Peacock Paisley Collection. I used the designer papers for the base of both. Here's a little close up of the floral arrangement.

Be sure to visit the Heartfelt Creations' Blog to see all the beautiful creations by the designers this week.

I'm submitting this to the following challenge:

Winter's Fireside Scene

Happy Wednesday!

I have another Christmas card to share with you this week using the new Winter's Eve Collection of stamps and dies.

This time I have used the cute fireside scene for the main image that I colored with pencils and minerals spirits.  I added the window die cut over it and added it to a white embossed mat.  The flower under the bow is from the Window Box Fillers Set that has a match die.
